Costa del Sol Beaches

The beaches on the Costa del Sol are of very high quality, and some wonderful spots are very close by. Here are a few locations to look out for.

Beaches of Estepona
Beaches of Manilva
Beaches of Sotogrande

Beaches of Estepona

Estepona Beaches start from around Heaven Beach, near Agro Jardin Garden Centre past the Kempinski Hotel, through Estepona Town and out the other end heading towards Manilva. Many have shower and toilet facilities and there are plenty of chiringuitos or beach restaurants.

Aldea Beach

10 minutes walk from the apartments. It is a long wide sandy beach with good bathing and popular with families and couples.

Bahia Dorada/Costa Doradas Beach

Sunbeds and parasols for hire, showers, litter bins and parking.

La Rada

The town beach of Estepona with plenty of restaurants, sun beds for hire, life guard, first aid service, disabled access, showers and toilets. This is a blue flag beach with golden sand, which is 2.6 km long with a promenade that stretches from one end to the other.

El Cristo

Situated on the outskirts of Estepona and 5 minutes away from the Marina.  El Cristo beach is set in a delightful sheltered cove and not over developed.

A blue flag beach 600m long with sand/stone. It has showers, life guard first aid, parasol and sun bed hire. It has two chiringuitos that serve traditional food. Popular with both tourists and locals so can get busy at weekends.

El Saladillo

A wide sandy beach with excellent bathing area. Sun bed hire, showers, litter bins, parking.

The Costa Natura

Spain’s first naturist complex is located to the east of the town. The complex is for members only, but temporary membership is available for touring naturists.

Playa de La Duquessa

Close to the marina ‘blue flagged’ and runs from the centre of “El Castillo” to the “Arroyo De La Piñuela” 1,150m. It offers plenty of services including chiringuitos, bars, showers and children’s play area. This is a good wide sandy, which is backed by a promenade and is a hub of activity. A lighthouse is at one end and the castle at the other. A full range of water sports on the Sabinillas side of the marina.

Playa De Sabinillas

Sabinillas Beach
Sabinillas Beach

Located in front of the town centre. It is ‘blue flag’ dark sand and gravel beach and stretches for 1650 metres between the port and Rio Manilva. It is a working beach as fishing boats are still launched from here. It has a promenade (Paseo Maritimo) which extends west approx 4 km.

It is backed by San Luis de Sabinillas and can get quite busy. The beach is cleaned daily throughout the summer and has first aiders and life guards. Urban beach with plenty of services.

Punta Chullera

Minutes away from La Duquesa has gorgeous coves surrounded by low cliffs.  Fairly isolated and rocky but with its clean transparent waters it is well suited to underwater fishing/snorkelling. Swimmers need to take care for octopus ad sea urchins!

El Negro (Los Toros)

Named after the bulls that found their way onto the beach from the adjacent Canada Real. It is the longest beach in Manilva and is frequented by fishermen.

Torre Guadiaro Beach

Large and clean with facilities and bars and close to restaurants in Torre Guadiaro. It is located next to Sotogrande enroute to Marbella.
