A recognised EHIC is now a plastic card. Ensure you have one of these for each individual (the exception is children, who are covered by their parents card).
It is wise to photocopy passports, driving license and EHIC, and keep these seperate from your originals, just in case the originals are lost. It is a requirement in Spain to have your driving license with you at all times if driving, along with passports to enable the use of credit cards in shops.
Other useful tips
If your flight home is late, stop off at Bono’s Beach. A7 pass Marbella, go past hospital still on A7. Bono’s beach is clearly sign posted. Luxury beach facilities, food, drink, loungers, huge beds.
