October half-term and we managed to get away for a few days on our own. It was wonderful to have such lovely weather and temperatures of 25 degrees with blue skies. Being late October it was out of season for the majority of tourists and we had a sunny and relaxed break with miles of quiet beaches.

Casares

Heading from Manilva we could see Casares on the hills - a tightly knit community clinging to the side of the hill. The journey was easy and we made a viewing stop and one for a herd of 100+ goats who ambled across the road. We found the most lovely of villages a true picture postcard village of Casares.

Ronda

My wife and I had one of our nicest days of our holiday visiting Ronda, a beautiful historic town about an hours drive. It took us three hours to get there because we stopped at all the viewing sites en route. I had no idea Spain was such a beautiful country.

Winter Fun!

Above is a picture of my grandchildren playing on the beach on New Years Day 2009. Twelve of us enjoyed several hours of sunshine, nice and comfortable, around 75f.
